In July of 2009, the US Military surprised scientists by saying they would no longer share meteor related data from military satellites. Within a few days the military came back and said they would not change the way they shared data even while they stopped sharing it. This is a good example of why the military chooses not to share any information at all. From the military's perspective, they would have been off the radar if they had never shared data in the first place. Regardless of how this story gets spinned, it does not help civilians who are concerned about what is happening in our local space environment.
In the fall of 2003, University of Virgina released a study showing that the Sagittarius Dwarf galaxy is passing through the Milky Way galaxy. They posted a disclaimer that they are emphatically certain the Sun is part of the Milky Way galaxy and they we just happened to be in the vicinity where the two galaxies are passing through each other.
Also in 2003, the University of Berkeley released a study showing the Sun also happens to be near a huge "tubular bubble" in an interstellar cloud. True to mainstream academia, Berkeley scientists talk about this "bubble" as though it was a mystery and guess it is a "chimney" to let heat out of a hot spot.
For the past few decades interest has increased in the so-called Mayan calendar. Some believe the calendar ends on December 21, 2012 because the world will end on that day. That's nonsense, of course, but the foundations of the calendar are not. The calendar actually tells us the year the center of the Milky Way galaxy will be directly behind the Sun at the winter solstice. 5000 years ago, the Milky Way galaxy was way off to the side of the Sun during the winter solstice. The Mayans somehow knew the center of the Galaxy would appear directly behind the Sun in 2012.
On June 21 of each year, the Milky Way is on the dark side of Earth. It is clearly visible in the summer sky. The Milky Way is a streak that, oddly enough, is arranged vertical to the southern horizon. What this means is that the solar system is about 90° turned sideways compared to the Milky Way plane. It is almost as though we were part of a foreign galaxy passing through huge cylindrical hole in the Milky Way magnetic plane. But as our illustrious academics point out, to assume so would be scientific heresy.
Regardless of the evidence showing the origin of our solar system, we are now beginning to experience an increase in meteors, comets, and odd electrostatic phenomena in space, not to mention a noticeable change in solar behavior.
Here at Meteor Reports, we recognize the infallibility of compartmentalized academicians and wouldn't dream of questioning their superior knowledge. What we are here for is simply to record all the meteors hitting our planet, and any strange phenomena that might be associated with them; strange phenomena such as green glowing gases, enormous electrostatic dust balls, filamentary "comet tails," and surprise mega-asteroids hitting large planets like Jupiter.
This site contains a database for reporting meteor sightings. As time goes on, we will provide interactive reports. These reports might incorrectly support the notion of a Sun passing perpendicular to the Milky Way plane through a dense dust cloud with strange magnetic and electrostatic properties. As such, this site could not possibly be scientific. It is merely a hobby site for those with too much unproductive time on their hands and who want to annoy academicians. Feel free to register and participate by adding your own reports, and join in the fun. |
